How to Survive eTail West

eTail West—we’re officially a week away. If your company is sending you to Palm Springs on their dime, it’s your responsibility to do the work before, during, and after the conference. With so much going on, it’s easy to lose track of all the panels, meetups, keynote sessions, happy hours, and dinners you want to attend, not to mention all the people you want to meet and connect with. In anticipation of the busy week, here are three tips for surviving eTail West:

  1. Pick Your Priorities. There really is a lot going on at eTail West. Ambitiously cramming your schedule with back-to-back sessions isn’t always realistic—sessions may run over time, pushing things back and leaving you disoriented and scrambling. Instead, look at the agenda in advance and narrow down just a few key sessions that really speak to your strategy and priorities. For example, with 87% of customers reporting a preference for brands who personalize, Day Three of the conference, focused on Digital and Omni Success, is going to be critical. Be sure to mark your calendars for 3 PM, when our own Director, Retail Strategy Kelly DeRosa will be speaking with Dollar Shave Club, Windsor Fashions, and APMEX about “Shaping Effective Customer Experiences Using Data.”
  2. Read the Room. Between sessions, be sure to give yourself some unstructured time to explore the floor at eTail. Engage with vendors and brands you may not have heard of before and learn about their latest innovations. Talk to other retailers about challenges you might share, or new tools that they’re using. Last year, everyone was raving about CDPs; in 2019, we’re predicting the rise of the Customer Intelligence Platform to help retail marketers deliver true omnichannel engagement. What will be the talk of Palm Springs this year? We guarantee that taking the time to have real, honest conversations with fellow attendants will truly be the most informative and memorable part of your eTail experience.
  3. Fuel Up. Walking the floors, networking, attending discussions and panels—it gets exhausting! Make sure to fuel up and treat yourself to In-N-Out burgers with IgnitionOne—we’ll be giving them out at our booth #601 for lunch at 12.30PM on Day Three. Stop by, say hi, and enjoy this guilty pleasure with us.

Being at eTail West can get a little frantic, but remember: it’s about coming together, reconnecting, and learning from each other. If you find yourself overwhelmed, don’t hesitate to stop by our booth #601 for an eye mask and a CBD gummy to help you relax—we’ve got you covered. We can’t wait to see you there!
